Sons of Levi

Devarim ch 21 5 And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near--for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto Him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and according to their word shall every controversy and every stroke be. the Torah is giving legislative power to the Kohanim, of the tribe of Levi not a Sanhedrin or rabbis. the same kohanim that the perushim persecuted in the 2nd temple era.
